Water Lily Residence
Residential, Bangkok
2021-2024
Nestled within the tranquil embrace of the former bird park, Water Lily Residence emerges as a hidden gem, gently concealed by the undulating landscape and a serene lotus pond. Its charm lies not only in its breathtaking natural setting but also in its thoughtful design, which seamlessly integrates with the surrounding greenery.
Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by the curved surface, subtly woven into the rustic, untouched landscape. The exterior, dressed in muted earth tones, complements the natural environment, creating a striking contrast to the vibrant colors and textures that unfold within.
Entering the interior is like gazing into a kaleidoscope—an immersive space filled with intricate patterns and luminous hues, drawing inspiration from Claude Monet's iconic water lily paintings. These colors echo the beauty of the lotus pond just beyond, completing the residence’s harmonious connection to nature.
Moreover, the theme of reflection and abstraction extends beyond the exterior, permeating the selection of interior materials. The central court, embraced by curved glass walls, further enhances connectivity among the rooms, facilitating seamless interaction for guests as they move throughout the residence, with the Water Lily Reverie serving as a backdrop. Each element is carefully chosen to evoke a sense of harmony with the organic surroundings, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
